The Welfare Question

This blog is going to discuss issues I'm interested in regarding life in these United States. Recently, a friend at a party criticized as unreformable those people receiving public handouts. I've heard this before. Certainly, there is a visible face to the homeless. Obviously, a certain type of poor person is highly visible on our streets and the streets of many American cities. You see them begging on street courners and pushing shopping carts with all their belongings. You might also see them shopping with food stamps at the grocery store. We also hear stories about welfare cheats. Are these stories true? That's what we will be looking into. Two questions to start out with: 1) How much welfare help can a person get in an individual state? 2) How much welfare can a corporation get in an individual state?
